M1 test format
- 64 questions — 20 road signs, 20 road rules and 24 motorcycle-specific questions.
- Pass mark: 80% in each section.
- Multiple-choice with four options, taken on a touchscreen at a DriveTest centre.
- The motorcycle section covers helmets, controls, braking, lane position and riding conditions.
M1 licence rules
- Ride only between half an hour before sunrise and half an hour after sunset.
- No passengers.
- Not on 400-series highways or roads with a speed limit over 80 km/h.
- Zero blood alcohol at all times.
